Kitchen Safety Hints
- Put food in the refrigerator as soon as meal is over.
- Cover all containers in refrigerators with lid, plastic or foil
to keep from absorbing smells of other foods.
- Once every two weeks, clean out the refrigerator "If in
Doubt - Toss it Out!!!"
- Refrigerator temperature should be 40 degrees F.
- Thaw food in the refrigerator.
- After handling raw meat, poultry or fish, wash all utensils
& counter tops with hot soapy water.
- Do not let raw meats come in contact with fresh vegetables.
- Wash all fruits and vegetables before using
- Sanitize the sink drains often. Pour one teaspoon chlorine bleach
in one quart of water down the drains.
- Wash dish rags or sponges daily.
- Use a clean towel to dry dishes each time or air dry dishes.
- Empty kitchen wastebasket at end of every day. Wash wastebasket
with chlorine bleach water and spray with disinfectant.

Beware of CARBON MONOXIDE - THE SILENT KILLER.
- Never leave a vehicle idling in a closed area.
- Fuel-burning heaters should be vented adequately to the outdoors.
- Burning charcoal or other combustibles in closed area can lead to a buildup of carbon monoxide.
- All fuel burning appliances should receive an annual safety inspection.
